Ransomware now targeting Apple Computers for the first time!
Over the weekend hackers have released a ransomware capable of locking up your Apple computer, and encrypting your files. The program then reaches out to other computers in your network such as servers, imacs, laptops, and begins to infect those as well. The program named “KeRanger” is said to have been released using a corrupted copy of a program named Transmission. Transmission has already advised users to update to version 2.92 to combat the situation. Once KeRanger infects your Apple computer it starts to encrypt your files, documents, and locks you out of your computer, until you pay a ransome of 1 bit coin.
