Apple Macbook Air, now has stiff competition
Dell’s newest laptop the XPS 13 is sure to bring on some competition to Apple’s Macbook air. While the Macbook Air has pretty much dominated the light weight laptops for years, this could be Dell’s come back. The XPS has an upgraded screen with better resolution coming in at 3,200 x 1,800 pixel resolution. The other nice feature on the XPS is the touch screen, where Apple has yet to incorporate this in there Macbook series laptops. The XPS comes with the latest 6th Generation Intel Core i7 Skylake CPU which benchmarks clearly rate this laptop in a class above the Macbook Air.
Apples Macbook Air still has this machine beat on battery life, but this will not be the downfall of the XPS. It falls short of the Macbook Air’s 10 hour battery life, with Dell’s XPS coming in around 8 hours.
Dell’s on the right track with this model of laptop, and Apple should be thinking really hard about creating a touch display for the Macbook Laptops in future releases.
The XPS 13 starts around $799.00 for the standard, and $1,399 for the high resolution touch verision.
